Figure study for the »Kasseler Karton« (destroyed in 1945 during the war). The history painting shows the entry of Sophie of Brabant with her son, the later Landgrave Henry, into Marburg in 1247; We thank Dr Claude Keisch for his scientific advice and for confirming the authenticity by means of a photographic image
