Description
Albert Marquet was fascinated by maritime landscapes. He stayed several times on the Basque coast, notably in Fontarrabie, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Ciboure and Biarritz. He painted views of these towns, their ports, their beaches and their cliffs, with bright colors and fluid strokes. He was able to capture the changing atmosphere of the sea and the sky, as well as the particular light of this region.
