This painting is an exceptional example of Teichert's 'text painting', wherein she creates her own and very original mark-making, reminiscent of jottings and notations, perhaps a music score or an aria, possibly a mathematical equation. Just out of reach, the text tantalizes, and intimates the possibility of memory, sound, or a eureka moment of understanding. The deep rich black of outerspace is interrupted by luminescent cloud and gas formations. And subtle elements of red and orange, blue and turquoise set up a feeling of vibration.
