Description
Embroidered fabric pieces, copper plate, thread and wire are assembled into three square format totems stacked in this unique framed wall sculpture. This work is narrative of detailed process, tactile materials and metaphor. This piece is framed behind museum glass.
Vander Vennen completed her BA in Art Education at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and has studied visual art at the Ontario College of Art and Design. Totemic in spirit, and fashioned from both found and created objects, Vander Vennen’s art reminds us of ancient civilizations and the natural world. A professional artist since 1980, Alice has exhibited in Canada and the US.
