Description
A combination of earthy browns and blue grays fused within encaustic wax and oil layers create an enlivening background giving way to a visual which inspires a dark storm cloud. Light blue oil paint creates texture and gives relief to the darkness. The white overlay represents lightness within the chaos. One can experience the insinuating and spiraling motions, similar to rotating winds and low atmospheric pressure. The process of torching the painting and burning in shellac complements the subject matter of natural elements taking form.
