Hill is known for his use of bold color in his non-figurative paintings that play with space, flattening it through curated shapes in balanced compositions. The 16 Lines paintings are whimsical yet elegant works influenced by late modernist traditions of minimalism and color-field painting.

Hill obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and his MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. He has exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. His work is held in private and corporate collections.
