This is a joyful painting. Aron Hill is known for imaginative, bold colour choices and minimalist form. For the Calgary artist, this series of recent works signal somewhat of a departure—the bright colour palette has shifted to also embrace earth tones. Nature still inspires. The composition is dynamic—a signature yellow sun mingles with other forms. Calligraphic lines in red have shadows—an intriguing detail. One of a series.

They obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
