Decades ahead of his time, legendary artist/ illustrator Bob Peak executes a football illustration that looks as much like a color field painting done by French post-impressionist painter Vuillard. Peak demonstrates his use of extreme composition by leaving the bottom 3/4 of the painting to the football field and only a thin part of the top to the football players. In 1964, this was a breakthrough and radical style and today it still has a cutting edge. Signed lower right. Done on assignment for Sports Illustrated Magazine.

Condition- Art is excellent. The plexiglass on the frame has a few surface scratches.
