Since 1998 Caro builds up her own material and photo archive, which she uses as a source for various series of works. She focuses on traces and themes of public life.

For this series of the so-called PUBLIC PAINTINGS Caro uses brochures that offer courses for continuing education. These she picked up and collected in 2001 in New York on the street, in the subway or in public places.
