Description
My work is mainly abstract, I would say abstract expressionism. I love painting with oils, they give me many possibilities I do no find in other media. When working with collages on paper or wood I use acrylics, ink, cuttings of photographic work I prepare. These work result in surrealism which I also love! Sometimes I alternate and get inspired by my own different work. Painting is for me a way to enjoy colour, enjoy the process and compositions I make always have a start in nature, mostly flowers, skyes or the ocean. I do photography and sketches that later on I transform in my paintings. The series “Reflections” is inspired on duality. We live in a world of polarities: cold-hot, up-down, strong-weak. My art precedes the concept, enjoying the process. Playing with colours and forms is the goal, even though there is always a momento of anguish when I do not know where to continue, then the painting itself tells me where to go. A work is finished when I consider that continuing it will change it.I consider myself heir of Matisse, Cezanne, Miro and their "painting for pleasure". I also admire the german expressionism, and Klee and Klimt are dear to me. Installations and contemporary art also inspire me as it is amazing for me the way imagination is endless.
