The exquisite glass sculptures of artist Cheryl Wilson-Smith are inspired by the rugged natural beauty of her northern Ontario home. The form, colours, patterns, and textures found in the rock, ice, ancient forests and water are emulated in her work. Wilson-Smith has meticulously layered fine circular pieces of white glass frit (ground glass) to create this elegant vessel.

She was the 2014 winner of the RBC Award for Glass through the Canadian Clay and Glass. Wilson-Smith has received nine grants from the Ontario Arts Council and one from the Canada Council. Commissions include the Red Lake District Heritage Centre, Margaret Cochenor Memorial Hospital Donor wall. Her work has been exhibited widely across Canada, in the UK and the US.
