Timeline

Connie Brown is a contemporary American artist, who’s abstract paintings reflect the relationships between form and color. Her long experience as a figurative three-dimensional artist informs her preference for sensual, amorphic, and monumental shapes. Twenty years ago, Brown began teaching painting and drawing to homeless adults. It was at that point she decided to transform her idea of the sculpted figure into painting, color being the driving force. Born in 1955, she graduated from the University of Arizona with a BFA in studio art. Brown’s paintings are in the Stamford Hospital collection. She currently lives and works in Connecticut.
