Dunning has received numerous awards for his work which has been widely exhibited in Canada and the US. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree (1971) from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. While earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (1969) from Mt. Allison University, in Sackville, NB, he studied under Lawren Harris, David Silverberg, Jeff Poklen, David Samila, and George Tiesen. Dunning has exhibited across Canada and his work is held in a number of corporate and national collections in Ontario and Quebec.
