Description
The ‘Elation with Diamond Dust’ by master contemporary Artist, Damien Hirst is a silkscreen print featuring layers of brilliant Diamond Dust. The layered Diamond Dust against a background of dark blue creates a magical and sparkling effect, transfixing it’s viewers into a feeling of ‘Elation’. Created in 2017, this artwork is a limited edition print with only 50 pieces in the series. Originally inspired by a Victorian tea tray found by Hirst, the works are made by placing thousands of different colored butterfly wings in intricate geometric patterns into household paint. The ‘Kaleidoscope’ paintings reference the spiritual symbolism of the butterfly, used by the Greeks to depict Psyche, the soul, and in Christian imagery to signify the resurrection. The works are reminiscent of, and even sometimes directly copy stained glass windows. The Artwork comes in a custom made white glossy frame with dark blue matte to match the tone of the butterfly wings, finished with museum quality non-glare glass.
