Description
British artist Damien Hirst's Spot paintings were initially conceived as a scientific approach to painting, much like drug companies' scientific approach to life, and Hirst has sought to depict the innumerable unique arrangements made possible by altering the color, size, and placement of the dots. As Hirst states, "mathematically, with the spot paintings, I probably discovered the most fundamentally important thing in any kind of art, which is the harmony of where color can exist on its own, interacting with other colors in a perfect format."
Savoy is based off Hirst's Color Space paintings. A variation on one of Hirst's best known themes, the spots, this print is playful in both its composition and colors.
