Damon Davis’s series of seven prints, All Hands on Deck, came from the streets of Ferguson, Missouri following Michael Brown’s death in August 2014, and on the eve of the grand jury decision in November 2014. A multidisciplinary artist, Damon photographed images of the hands of people of the movement, and these were originally printed at Kinkos for the boarded-up windows of the beleaguered businesses of Ferguson – an act of solidarity. Often mistaken for the first cries of defiance, “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot,” these images are a call to action – that it will take all of us to fix this.



Early in 2016, Damon and his co-director, Sabaah Jordan, received MacArthur Foundation and Sundance grants to complete their extraordinary documentary Whose Streets? This was followed by a grant from the Tribecca Film Institute in March 2016.
