Description
You've Got to Pretend You are Dead is one of thirty-two artworks in Daniel Johnston's Duck Wars series. Composed in ink and colored marker on cardstock paper, Johnston's illustrations compress his affinity for comic books and social commentary into artwork which is both whimsical and insightful. As a musician and a visual artist, Daniel Johnston's work represents a spirited form of self-expression amidst mental illness, often imbuing his work with a child-like sentimentality. In spite of his battle with schizophrenia, Daniel Johnston's unique vision has generated a following that spans the globe.
This work has not been previously owned, and remains in excellent condition.
