Description
"My sculptures are created without a model or pattern. They are not to be understood as portraits, but rather the product of my thought world. They arise from the naive thought that it is obvious to make a face or a human form, since our body is closest to us and is immediately perceived by everyone as accessible and understandable. Through the material and the different manufacturing processes, they take on different accuracy of the human form or move away from the actual form again.
Sculpture for me is strongly tied to materiality. It is always in real space and very close to the manufacturing process. That's why casting molds and the work traces of hands and tools remain.
Through color and pigments, gestures are highlighted and captured in the sculpture.
My works often have a mystical character. I use mystical and archaic forms to create a certain mood that I find in trap, techno of music or in romantic paintings (like by Gustave Doré) and these mix with my own world."
