Inspired by his exotic travels in Silguri, India, this gorgeous, joyful explosion of colour was painted by David Bolduc, a Canadian abstract artist. Against a rich backdrop of turquoise, deep blue and purple, feather-like fans and lines of colour in orange, pink, yellow, green and white float around the canvas. Bolduc was known for his brilliant use of colour in modernist work inspired by artists Jack Bush and Matisse.

(1945-2010) Born in Toronto, Bolduc attended the Ontario College of Art and then the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts School until 1965. In 1968, he received a Canada Council Grant that allowed him to travel in Europe and Asia for eight months. Bolduc continued to travel extensively over the next 33 years while exhibiting annually at public and commercial galleries. His work is held in private, corporate, and public collections.
