David Drebin

Biography
David Drebin is an American photographer widely recognized for his cinematic, high-definition photographs of models and celebrities. Best known for his editorial work produced for magazines like GQ, Rolling Stone, and Vanity Fair, Drebin also creates a personal body of work which focuses on themes of solitude, sex, and opulence. He combines voyeuristic and psychological viewpoints in his work, offering dramatized insight into the emotions and experiences of his subjects, exploring the tensions between melancholy and humor. “I like looking at things from the inside out and the outside in, so you get both,” the artist has said. “We're all voyeurs, aren't we?” Born in 1970 in Toronto, Canada, Drebin went on to attend the Parsons New School for Design in New York, graduating in 1996. He has since shown with Young Gallery in Brussels, Camera Work in Berlin, and Fahey Klein Gallery in Los Angeles. Drebin lives and works in New York, NY.
