British painter, photographer and set designer David Hockney (1937 - ) is associated with the Pop Art movement and renowned for his intimate portraits and naturalistic scenes of California. Hockney's work draws a lot of inspiration from Walt Whitmans poems on homosexuality as well as from photography, giving his scenery paintings a flat quality of photographs.
