Embossed and editioned by the estate, with full COA
Edition of 95
This latest release from David Spiller is a bold text work incorporating well known pop lyrics, to convey the artists message of love. It is one of the final series of prints created from original artwork David Spiller created for silkscreens before he passed away in 2018. Each print in this numbered limited edition is embossed by his estate, initialled by his wife Moira and son Xavier and comes with a full certificate of authenticity.
David Spiller created his silkscreen limited editions in collaboration with the printers developing a new work of art from one of his original paintings. In this piece the original painted text has been covered with acetates on to which he added the extra lyrics, text and lines, building up the composition and creating a basis for the screens used to create this print. The finished artwork is a unique combination of creative process of both the artist and the printer.
“Music has always been a big part of my life. Music and lyrics touch us. Using them becomes a way of trying to make sense of things by remembering souls or fragments of things in my life.’” David Spiller 1942 – 2018
