David Yarrow (British, b. 1966) began his photography career on assignment for The London Times to cover the 1986 World Cup in Mexico City. As his practice evolved, he found that his true passion was photographing nature, with a focus on wildlife and indigenous populations in the most remote parts of the world. He has published numerous books of his photographs including Nowhere (2011), Encounter (2013), and Wild Encounters: Iconic Photographs of the Worlds’ Vanishing Animals and Cultures (2016). Philanthropy remains central to Yarrow's mission as a photographer, and he has worked on campaigns to support recovery efforts after Australian wildfires, the prevention of illegal wildlife trade, and most recently the NHS in their fight against Covid-19. He currently lives and works in London.
