Biography
Dieter Rehm is a contemporary German photographer who employs expired film negatives to create surreal color effects. Rehm often captures spaces with mirrors, including Herrenchiemsse Castle in Bavaria and St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. “Photographs make reality look unrehearsed, even though that’s not exactly true,” he once said. Born in 1955 in Memmingen, Germany, he studied under Gerd Winner at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Rehm went on to work as a designer for ECM Records and notably produced the cover for the band Azimuth’s album The Touchstone (1979). The artist continues to live and work in Munich, Germany.
