DREAM MAP" was the first of in a series of 12 works on paper that made up the “X&Y” series begun in 2011. A recurrent theme throughout many of Doug's works is the impact and effects of energy - the way things we see are impacted by things we do not see (wind blowing leaves, gravity, the cold, as examples). In the piece, this plays out in relationships between active planes and the surrounding atmospheres they move through.
