“SYMPHONY” In 2010, the artist had abandoned overt symbolism in favor of a purely gestural orchestration of boldly dynamic color and weaving, elliptical movements of paint and surface texture that evolved from the idea of a graphic allegory to the musical movements found in the great symphonies of Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms.
