In creating this work, Leciejewski constructed a makeshift camera from a scanner. During a controlled exposure, he passed his hand back and forth repeatedly in front of the scanner in a dark room. The results of the exposures, seen as stripes of interference, are always wildly different despite the artist's efforts each time in recreating the movement and speed of his hand as closely as possible.
