Description
A native of Honfleur, Eugène Boudin spent much of his life painting seascapes and scenes of daily life on the Normandy coast.
His choice of vibrant colors and light brushstrokes reflect the painter's great interest in light and atmosphere, capturing the bustling life of the market with its stalls, merchants and busy customers.
His innovative approach inspired future Impressionist masters such as Claude Monet to explore nature and modern life in a more spontaneous and expressive way.
