Description
“A dreamer – he always is, but his dreams, sometimes sensual, deal with the realities of form. Sometimes, on the other hand, he is caustic, if not revolted, by the stupidity and satisfied mediocrity of human race… One wonders what will be the final alliance of the two demons fighting within himself. It will be something very beautiful and very great. Definitely – something new, ”
– André Duboscq from Le Temps, Paris
American artist Grigory Gluckmann was inspired by French Impressionism, specially by the compositions of Degas and Renoir. Gluckmann loved to use the theatre and ballet as his subjects in this paintings. Grigory Gluckmann worked in the classical style; his figurative paintings are wonderfully evocative of the Rubens forms and Renoir riot of colour. The master’s creative philosophy possesses attributes of the exquisite style of painting, complexity of composition, emotionality and sensuousness of female images, fantasy, wide scheme of reflective colours, and classicality in symbiosis with modern vision.
