Akte vier, song for myself starts with original 8mm footage of Guido van der Werve as a newborn, recorded in 1977 by the artist’s father Kees van der Werve. The music accompanying the video was composed and orchestrated by Guido van der Werve: a song about his life that almost ended in a fatal accident. The film touches upon the fragility of life and the desire to both remember and to forget.
