Catalogue note
According to Maison, "this work has very close affinities with the composition of Les deux médecins et la Mort in the collection of the late Dr. Oskar Reinhart, Winterthur: the two figures in the watercolor are drawn in reverse, but their attitudes are very near identical with those of the figures in the present drawing".1
