Description
Signed Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat Boxing Poster 1985:
Hand-signed in black marker by both Warhol & Basquiat - the most sought-after of all Basquiat/Warhol collectibles in existence. Published on the occasion of the 1985 Warhol Basquiat 'Paintings' show, this work is perhaps the most enduring & popularized image of the 1980's New York art scene. Seldom comes to market with crisp, standout signatures of each artist (especially for that of Basquiat who merely initialed a number of these). Rare and not to be passed upon.
Medium: Offset lithograph in colors on wove paper, 1985.
Dimensions: 12 x 19 inches.
Hand-signed by both artists in black marker.
Condition: Quattro fold-lines as originally issued/distributed in 1985; minor creases and abrasions along vertical and horizontal folds as commensurate with much of its history; minor signs of handling & surface dimples. In otherwise good overall vintage condition given its history; well-preserved colors & signatures.
Photograph by Michael Halsband. Published by Tony Shafrazi, New York and Bruno Bischofberger, Switzerland.
Authenticity guaranteed. COA provided by Lot 180 Gallery New York.
Shipped flat using protective materials from NYC.
