Description
Digital Painting, Lambda Print on fuji crystal archival paper mounted on aluminum dibond, acrylic front.
Shanghai 2014 – a city, a “mega city”, a metropole endeavors with all its might to regain a “place at the top”, strives to radiate, sparkle, shine, to be dynamic; an innovative forerunner to future dimensions. Imperial Colors are seen again: red and gold embedded on endless, green landscapes of a boundless land. Tradition remains a part of the future. Art Deco motifs from the 1920’s and 30’s, a former time of greatness, can also be found. – JCW abstracts and transforms urban forms with brushwork elements, de-composes the original photographs and re-composes the new image with powerful color, movement and perspective.
