Description
Inspired by my friend’s Puff’s vintage shop, this painting is titled, "Fancy Crap." Here, I drew them (pronoun preference) in front of the store front. I am always surprised by they choice of items displayed on the window. I laugh every time I read the name of the store, “Fancy Crap” because it sounds like the story of my life.
My father in law (R.I.P) used to give me the most random and unusual things for my bday. Once he gave me two of these 1970s “Iron Man” magazines because he heard I was exercising and thought I’d like these. I still remember that day, I thanked him for the present but afterwards, Mario and I laughed. It was so endearing and so reflective of my father in law’s originality. I didn’t question it or try to rationalize it. I miss him and his gifting.
