Description
There is a passage from the book The Four Agreements in which author Don Miguel Ruiz relays a story of creation from the Toltec tradition.
In this story a young man was studying to be a shaman but felt in his heart that there was more to life than what he was learning, so he set out into a cave where he slept and dreamed that he saw himself looking up at the night sky. Spontaneously he found himself saying out loud “I am made of light; I am made of stars.”
He realized that the stars do not create the light but that the light creates the stars. “Everything is made of light. And the space between isn’t empty.”
So he called the stars the “tonal” and the light the “nagual” and knew that what created the harmony and space between the two is Life or Intent.
This Life is the force of the absolute, the supreme creator who creates everything; that everything is God, and that the human perception of life is light perceiving light.
This story resonates really well with me in this Unity series as I bring my understanding of existence beyond the physical matter that makes up our bodies and all that we perceive in the physical world to include the light as well as the space between; the space between every single cell in our body, between every single atom that makes up a tree, a rock, or a table.... This space between where light can move and play and organize elements and bind them together to build the physical world we see... it is a level of our existence, a level of our being, and one that can be perceived as God.
I hope to capture a sense of this light, space, and the relationship between the two in these works.
