Description
Sunset Sea combines the colors of the ocean and the setting sun in Drexler's signature style in the late 1960s of the elongated curving brush strokes punctuated by geometric shapes. It conjures the atmosphere of the sea and the end of the day with a tension between tranquility and tumult. The eye is drawn to two unique linear forms on the canvas, one horizontal and one vertical, that ground the painting in the midst of the frenzy of the rest of the composition.
