Marc Lagrange
(Belgian, 1957–2015)
Biography
Marc Lagrange was a Belgian photographer known for his nude portraits of the female figure. Lagrange created dream-like and fantastical narrative pictures populated by beautiful nudes that bear the influence of Helmut Newton and Peter Lindbergh. Born in 1957 in Léopoldville, Belgian Congo (currently Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo), Lagrange lived and worked in Antwerp throughout most his career, where he primarily worked as a fashion photographer. It was his photobooks Marc Lagrange XXML (2011) and Diamonds and Pearls (2013) which won his personal photography recognition on an international scale. Tragically, the artist died in a car accident on the island of Tenerife, Spain on December 25, 2015.
