Brazilian-German artist Mona Kuhn was born in 1969. She grew up in Brazil and later moved to the United States to continue her education, eventually settling in Los Angeles, where she currently lives and works. 
 
Kuhn's work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums around the world, including the Louvre Museum in Paris, the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego, and the Leica Gallery in New York. Her large-scale photographs reinterpreting the classical nude have been praised for their sensual and dreamlike quality. 
 
In 2003, Kuhn's work Merle was sold at auction for $16,250. The chromogenic print captures the beauty of the human form in a natural and organic way, reflecting Kuhn's ability to create intimate and emotive images. 
 
As well as pursuing an artistic career, Kuhn is an independent scholar at the Getty Research Institute and also occasionally teaches at UCLA and the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena. She has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Aaron Siskind Foundation Individual Photographer's Fellowship and a Guggenheim Fellowship. 
 
Kuhn's work has been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times, the Guardian, and Vanity Fair. She continues to inspire and innovate within the photography industry, pushing the boundaries of what can be captured with a camera.
