Description
The Biiga have cylindrical bases; arms and legs are missing, but the pendulous breasts, symbols of motherhood, are accentuated. As an educational toy, the biiga was dressed, washed, and carried on the back it also functioned held the power of fertility that would be released to the girl who cared for it. The biiga passes from mother to daughter or from sister to sister.
