Moyna Flannigan’s paintings tackle ideas of time present and time past – mixing an amalgam of memory and experience with ideas drawn from history, mythology and popular culture. The painting presented here harnesses fragments of familiar iconography - Marylin Monroe and the Kennedy assassination - to bring the year 1963 (the year that Moyna was born) into the context of the present day.
