At its core Grant’s art is about rebelling in both small and big ways. It’s about little guys standing up to bullies and about sly grins in the face of misused authority. But it’s also about his daughter’s ironclad belief than she can change the world for the better.

While Grant’s work challenges authority, it’s not anarchic. He tells his stories through accurately rendered sculptures. “I believe change is about creating and following ‘good rules’ and I deliberately bind myself in the rules of anatomical correctness and the accurate rendering of my subjects. I want my audience to appreciate technique while seeking the story in my work."
