A bright red daisy with a yellow pistil dominates the canvas in this engaging abstract floral by Vancouver artist, Pat Service. Reminiscent of Andy Warhol, Service’s flowers are pared down to the essentials--simple shapes without leaves or stems. As an avid gardener and horticulturist, Pat Service has painted florals throughout her career. This is one in a series.

She acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong.
