This whimsical composition by BC artist Pat Service recalls the view from the dock at the Emma Lake campus of the University of Saskatchewan. This is a quintessentially Canadian summer lake scene—canoes drawn up on the beach, a floating dock, a cabin rendered in an imaginative colour palette of soft greens, blues, a pop of red and yellow.

She acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
