Description
In 1961, color field painter Paul Feeley created a series of watercolors - Rafina and Rafina I - inspired by the beautiful port town of Rafina Greece. The first watercolor Rafina I sold at Christies Post War and Contemporary Art sale in July, 2022 for US $15,120. (see comparable below). The present work, Rafina II, is a more powerful and impressive image. It bears the original Kasmin Limited, London label on the back so it has excellent provenance. Measurements of Rafina II are:
Framed
16 inches horizontal by 13.5 vertical by .75 inches
Work
13.5 inches horizontal by 11 inches vertical
