Description
Rembrandt's etching traditionally known as The Hog should really have been called The Sow. “The Hog” is lying on its side and tied up to a fence. The figures in the background are Dutch men, concluding the end of a hunt with the creature’s slaughter. However, the focus of Rembrandt’s study is the boar. A deep gold period frame adorns this delicate piece which is float mounted to appreciate the edges of the hand made paper. Second and Final State Etching
