Description
Spacetime 2 is a sculpture by the English artist, Richard Perry.
This piece is typical of the geometric language the sculptor developed in the 2010s characteristic of his current work. Although he works with different materials such as bronze or ceramic, the artist favours stone: granites, marbles, limestones, red sandstones or alabasters from English, Irish and Italian quarries.
Richard Perry's artistic approach focuses on shape and the material, and how they both interact with space and light. Planes, lines, surfaces and voids all come together creating an elegant and solid balance, characteristic of his abstract shaped sculptures.
The artist’s creative process is experimental, led by intuition and by premeditation: the two continually battle together ending only ‘when the sculpture has a character of its own and when it becomes surprising.’
This sculpture is a unique piece, sold with a certificate of authenticity.
