This work served as the model for a large-scale 1981 painting, White Sanctuary [P1035, acrylic on canvas, 88 x 120 inches], which was included in Motherwell solo exhibitions in Buffalo and San Francisco (1983), Leverkusen (2004), Munich (2005), and Paris (2007)
