Description
Karl Springer commissioned this cast bronze cubist Torso Sculpture by artist Roberto Esteves around 1982. The limited edition sculpture was sold exclusively through the Karl Springer show room and is now available for the first time in collaboration with Karl Springer LTD and Todd Merrill Studio. The shown work has a mirror polished finished in an edition of 12. A full range of patinas are available by commission.
Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Karl Springer (1931-1991) created custom designs with superb craftsmanship and extreme attention to detail. Though he based his designs on European classical forms, Springer developed an irreverent and non-doctrinaire idiom of bold proportions and highly exotic finishes. His iconic work speaks with the confidence and energy of the 1970s and now finds new relevance in the world of contemporary design. Not only an accomplished maker, Springer was an avid traveler and collector. He procured of exotic objects and textiles which he would incorporate into his designs and sell at his celebrated showrooms.
