Description
Roland Fischer’s path to large-sized collective portraits was initiated by his ‘Los Angeles Portraits’, depicted in still, monochrome waters, which formed a new genre in the art of photography with their delicate and plane picture language.
Fischer (* 1958) then turned to architecture and created a confident and new point of view on the highly complex and transparent Gothic style and on the factual, orthogonal facades of modern high-rise buildings. In his latest work–complex ‘new architectures’ Roland Fischer approaches emblematic buildings of modern and contemporary architecture.
Roland Fischer, who lives and works in Beijing and Munich, is one of the key–figures of German contemporary photography. ‘Photo Technik International’ names him as one of the top ten German photographers. His work has been presented in many national and international exhibitions and is a part of numerous public collections.
