Description
Roy Lichtenstein (1923–1997) presents "As I Opened Fire" in 1966, a striking offset lithograph triptych in red, yellow, blue, and black on white wove paper. Each piece measures 25 3/16 x 20 3/4 inches (64 x 52.7 cm) and is hand-signed and stamped by the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. With "As I Opened Fire," Lichtenstein employs his signature comic book-inspired style to depict a dramatic scene of gunfire, exploring themes of violence, heroism, and popular culture. The bold colors and graphic lines characteristic of Lichtenstein's work enhance the impact of the imagery, inviting viewers to contemplate the tension between artifice and reality. Hand-signed by the artist and stamped by the prestigious Stedelijk Museum, this triptych is a testament to Lichtenstein's enduring influence on the world of contemporary art.
